Do I have to be black to come to this event?
Of course not. All races and cultures are invited to the BEB. Applications are blind as well, so coming to the event will not be impacted by name origins, gender, or any other factor.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! All drinks and food are on Black Excellence Ball! Come out and enjoy yourself!
What’s the attire?
Holiday chic. This is not necessarily a black-tie event, but please do not come in your pajamas.

Can I bring someone?
Sure. We understand that most guests will want to bring a date to this function, so all attendees will have the option to purchase up to 2 tickets.
How do I become a sponsor?
There are several ways that you can support the BEB. The 1st would be sponsorship of another attendee’s ticket – as you know excellence does not always come with the paycheck it should. If you wanted to make it easier for other qualified participants to pay their tickets we have built in a way to do just that upon purchase.
The 2nd way you could sponsor the BEB would be to partner with us in the event and promotion. – All of the funds we collect for the event goes back into the event. Contact us here
Specific questions about food (special diets, allergies)
Personal allergies will not be taken into consideration during the event. We will post the content of the food next to the serving area for you to reference, but it is the responsibility of our attendees to ensure that they do not congest something that could be harmful to them.

I can’t go anymore, can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Sure, if you can no longer attend the event then feel free to let us know and we can have the ticket(s) transferred to a friend, or donated an attendee who could not afford to pay full price for their ticket. – If you plan to transfer the funds please provide us with their first and last name, and a short description of why they are excellent in your eyes and would value and add value to this event.
